Good morning, love:
Sorry it’s taken me a while to get back to you. My entire last week has been consumed by the (surprise) horror-themed birthday party I threw for the kiddos on Saturday. The treasure hunt full of bloody hand prints, a dead body in the laundry room, a trail of bugs leading to the pool shower and other such sundry and disgusting items was a hit, a very palpable hit.
(See there, how I worked Shakespeare into a post about horror camp! This writing stuff, so much fun!)
Anyway, The Boy loves Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) games and had asked if I would throw him a FNAF party. I found FNAF balloons and pizza boxes on the internet. (You can literally find anything on the internet. Why can’t I make a living shopping for others on the internet? I am SO good at it!)
The Teenager has always loved horror movies, so we played some horror trivia and gave out horrible B-movies as prizes. We had cupcakes with blood and shattered-glass covering them, and bugs in our punch. Fun was had by all.
Maybe I should become a professional party planner!
And, now I have some raging eye infection. Too bad I didn’t have it at the party. I would have been scary looking without special effects makeup!
How are things on your end? Any more craziness happening there? I’m sorry that you have to deal with a difficult family situation. It completely sucks. Did you ever see that Twilight Zone episode where the little boy can make any wish come true for himself, and so if anyone displeases him, he just makes them vanish? That power. That’s the power I want! (Just looked it up – “It’s a Good Life”)
That’s it for right now. Still job hunting. Still writing. Still floundering a bit.
